Herne Bay is a seaside town in Kent, South East England, with a population of 35,000. On the south coast of the Thames Estuary, it is 7 miles (11 km) north of Canterbury and 1 mile (2 km) east of Whitstable. It neighbours the ancient villages of Herne and Reculver and is part of the City of Canterbury local government district. Until 1978, the town had the second-longest pier in the United Kingdom.

What a fantastic vista! I'd enjoy a walk down that promenade!
Probably one of the last decent days of the year! I was walking along there last week and the wind certainly outweighed the strength of the autumn sun. Reculver Towers are always good, whether they be close up or just a "dot" from afar.
