You could take a cruise under sail to an offshore sandbank and see a local seal herd in their natural environment.
This is a 5 hour cruise from Herne Bay, including 1 hour at a sandbank. On a good day, you could swim with the seals.....
Herne Bay is a seaside town in Kent, South East England, with a population of 35,000. On the south coast of the Thames Estuary, it is 7 miles (11 km) north of Canterbury and 1 mile (2 km) east of Whitstable. It neighbours the ancient villages of Herne and Reculver and is part of the City of Canterbury local government district. Until 1978, the town had the second-longest pier in the United Kingdom.
